A Peak at Big Beat Dallas

In a couple of weeks you will have the option of eating true Texan style brisket 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That includes after a late night of boozing and Bankhead Bouncing. The moment you flap your eyes open on any given day at any given time, tender, smoky brisket will be possible. Let that sink in for a second. Or better yet, get up and get yourself some brisket at this very moment, just because you can. A Q & A with Executive Chef Tysun Thomas of Steel

On April 27th a much loved dining destination reopened its doors. Having been around for nearly 20 years, Steel has reemerged from eatery ashes. With a refreshed artistic interior and “loungey” feel, Steel has definitely spruced up their space. But, the changes haven’t stopped there. Enter new Executive Chef Tysun Thomas. The Ragin’ Crab- 2Stars Extra seasoned and all the fixings in a sturdy large plastic boiling bag. You could say the Boiling Crab started this frenzy. It would seem based on the long waits at both Shell Shack, and Boiling Crab there is clearly something to this delicious way of getting your crab fix. Unfortunately, just because it’s proven to be tasty, doesn’t mean everyone knows what’s “cracking.” It was a Sunday afternoon and I was feeling a tad undernourished. Having had a hankering for chicken and waffles all day long, I was quite sad since it was after 4PM and brunch was officially ending.  So, driving half hungry, half…

Grand Opening of Val’s Cheesecake

Val’s Cheesecake Within an hour they were already sold out of cookies and cream, and lemon poppy seed jars. Moments after that, they would be sold out of the red velvet cheesecake jars as well. The grand opening of Val’s Cheesecake was a hit and then some on last Tuesday, June 30. The event brought out a number of sweet and savory toothed lovers ready to support the exciting new endeavor of owners Valery Jean-Bart and Christopher Reece. Easy Slider food truck was once again wonderful with their mouthwatering sliders, (shout out to my favorite, Sweet and Lowdown), and the Grapevine Bar, Val’s new next door neighbor served as the…
