Sambuca’s Uptown – 3.7 Stars

Bacon eggs and bacon and eggs with a side of fruit. Just a little basic goodness.

Blackened shrimp and grits with a side of sax. Paired with a few mimosas, it’s not a bad way to enjoy your food. With their latest menu, Sambuca’s Uptown is providing a soundtrack to the weekend’s most beloved meal.

Don’t expect a lot of fills when it comes to the brunch selections at Sambuca’s. For the most part, this menu gets straight to the point with house made granola parfaits, eggs benedict and breakfast tacos. Those looking for a little twist to the classics will also get their fix. Take a roll in sugar with the Bananas Foster French Toast, which is made with candied walnuts, brandied maple syrup and bacon. The Chicken and Waffles dish is large enough to share. A fried breast and thigh are served with chipotle bourbon maple syrup and sausage peppercorn gravy.

Music, sweet music.

If there’s room, do finish off your brunch with Sambuca’s ever popular Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding. This thick gooey goodness gives you a sweet rush your soul can taste. The dessert is topped with toffee sauce, a crispy, crunchy candy cup and a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This is sweet surrender AKA the Sticky Toffee Pudding from Sambuca.

If you’re looking for smooth tunes, and a few brunch classics, then try your fork at Sambuca’s Uptown on Sunday’s from 10 AM – 3 PM. Finally, you don’t have to decide between going to listen to jazz standards and sopping up your biscuits with duck fat gravy. Here, you can have them both. TXmB
