A collective of hauntingly beautiful people and fashion forward garments was the essence of last Thursday night’s Design and Dine event. Sprinkled between the pretty, was a mix of good eats and even better booze. Held in Plano’s Classic BMW Building, ticket holders had a chance to view collections from acclaimed designers such as Neobantu and Esé Azénabor.

In the midst of the creativity flowing across the stage, guests were able to satiate their palates with savory stuffed goat cheese filled mushrooms and spicy smooth pimento cheese dip, from Taverna Rossa. For those seeking a meatier experience, Rafian Brazilian Steakhouse provided kabobs with thick cuts of beef, juicy bacon wrapped chicken and sausage.  Mama Pita also indulged the crowd with a variety of options, including hummus. Snappy Salads possibly had my favorite thing. Their Sweet and Smokey salad was a perfect mix of leafy lettuce, gold raisins, mandarin oranges, roasted red peppers, currants, pepper jack cheese, smoked salmon and their house made mustard-honey dressing. The way the salmon mixes with the sweetness of the other ingredients makes you realize salad can strut its stuff with the best of them. For dessert it was all about cupcakes and miniature bites.

Throughout the evening your thirst could be quenched in a variety of methods. Milagro Tequila poured up a few margaritas, and Reyka, a small batch vodka, had a rather delightfully strong concoction with lemonade. Highland Park Whisky also came out to play, along with Manuscript Cellars and Brugal Rum.

My final and favorite sippage of choice was a combination of mango flavored El Jimador Tequilla and champagne. The tropical tasting tequila colliding with bubbly complimented each other perfectly. All and all Design and Dine 2015 was an ideal evening of chic and chow. TXmb
