Like a castle of all things exquisitely edible the Chefs for Farmers main event Culinary Village was a splash of taste from start to finish. Although the village was originally scheduled to be held outside at Lee Park near Turtle Creek, Texas weather decided otherwise, as a monsoon basically took over the city during that weekend. Impressively, within a short period of time, the organizers for the Culinary Village turned Gilley’s from an event venue to a multi room food and booze haven unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. There was no shortage of tongue tingling items during the Culinary Village. Etched in fall flavors, the rustic taste of autumn…
Recap Mystery Dine Around Downtown Dallas
Typically, when food and mystery come together, the images conjured may range between a murder mystery dinner with sub-par cuisine to that meatloaf surprise that shows up at the occasional workplace potluck. Fortunately the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association kept the elements of surprise and savor during their Mystery Dine Around Downtown Dallas event. Guests arrived around 6 PM at the gorgeous Joule Hotel in Downtown Dallas where they escorted from the ground to an elevator that moved them to a picturesque terrace view of downtown Dallas. Upon exiting the elevator guests were greeted with signature cocktails like the herb infused prosecco, a citrusy blend of grapefruit, lemon, mint, house made almond…

First Year is a Charm @Fork and Cork 2014
Fork and Cork 2014 Decadent. Gourmet. Bon Vivant. All words synonymous with this past weekend’s two day affair Fork and Cork. Held at Addison’s Circle Park, the first annual “celebration of taste” took the place of Taste of Addison. Different, you betcha. Fork and Cork kept it kiddo free with the 21 and up crowd, catering to the luxury of food and spirits. Upon entry gourmet goers were given a fancy pamphlet of activities, a ticket to the Grand Tasting Area, and a redeemable $50 coupon that turned out to be two $25 gift certificates to Chamberlains. Not too shabby. Food samples were $2 to $5 each. Some of my…
Fourth Year of Flavor @ Iron Fork
Iron Fork 2014 Last night’s Iron Fork event could be summed up in a few words; foodtastic boozelosity epicness. This year’s Iron Fork was held in Fair Park inside the Centennial Hall. The fourth annual event did not disappoint, giving folks a few good tastes of Texas, rather fine elixirs to wash it down with and a showdown of chefs hosted by the famous Kent Rathbun. This year was all about the taco, as several eateries whipped up their versions of the shelled delights. Vickery Park served up a juicy filling chicken taco that left me plate picking. Luna’s also went the way of the taco with fresh cilantro, onions…
