Inside Sai
Chef Eddy's signature Braised Pork Belly is prepared with pickled daikon and pickled mustard greens. This starter was certainly a first for my palate.
The popular Lobster Wontons are lightly crisp and fried with a rich cream cheese, lobster and herb filling.
Fried Brussel Sprouts are crisp and golden, and tossed in a sweet and tangy chili plum sauce with crispy shallots.
Orange Balsamic Teriyaki Chicken is made of grilled all natural Jidori chicken breast and topped off with toasted sesame seeds and seasonal veggies in an orange balsamic teriyaki glaze.
Addictive Salmon Miso Truffle is a marriage of grilled salmon, with butternut squash, brussel sprouts and wild mushrooms in a perfect miso truffle cream sauce.

Spring rolls aren’t something you will find on the starters section of the menu at Sai Fine Asian Bistro. Instead, you’ll spot appetizers like fried brussel sprouts in a sweet and tangy chili plum sauce and their tangy take on braised pork belly. But it doesn’t stop with the starters. Sai’s menu is tossed in the whimsical with sprinkles of the traditional for good measure.

Items served at Sai are the foodchild of Chef Eddy. Somewhere smack dab between upscale and affordable, Eddy has left his mark on this Colleyville eatery, creating dishes that make you ask, “What’s that seasoning in there?” It’s a question that you might ask while forking away at the yellow tinted jumbo lump crab cakes made with onions, celery, saffron and smoked onion Remoulade. Or start with the fried wontons which ooze with a creamy lobster bisque so you have to commit to downing them in one bite. Think, crispy soup dumplings.

Making your way down to the entrees on the menu, your gaze will meet a number of temptations. The biggest decision you’ll need to make when choosing your main course is whether you’ll want to do traditional, whimsical or both. If the wallet allows it, choose both. For the tongue in search of tradition, the Orange Balsamic Teriyaki Chicken should be tried. Made with grilled marinated all natural Jidori chicken breast and toasted sesame, the dish is finished in seasonal vegetables in an orange balsamic teriyaki glaze, creating a sweet minus syrupy taste. The chicken is tender and friendly without a dry piece in sight. But, for those looking to be bewitched, let me introduce your fork to Salmon Miso Truffle.

Occasionally, you meet a dish that is so good it’s worth putting unnecessary miles on your vehicle and quickly writing the gas guzzling adventure off as mandatory. That’s what the Salmon Miso Truffle entrée does to you and your car. This dish blends a marriage of butternut squash, brussel sprouts and wild mushrooms with soft flaky grilled salmon then it’s topped with an unforgettable miso truffle sauce. The sauce. The sauce. There are few words to describe the goodness of this stuff, but it has cemented my belief that anything cooked with truffle guarantees a whimsical grubbing experience. TxMB
