Val’s Cheesecake

Within an hour they were already sold out of cookies and cream, and lemon poppy seed jars. Moments after that, they would be sold out of the red velvet cheesecake jars as well. The grand opening of Val’s Cheesecake was a hit and then some on last Tuesday, June 30. The event brought out a number of sweet and savory toothed lovers ready to support the exciting new endeavor of owners Valery Jean-Bart and Christopher Reece. Easy Slider food truck was once again wonderful with their mouthwatering sliders, (shout out to my favorite, Sweet and Lowdown), and the Grapevine Bar, Val’s new next door neighbor served as the watering hole.

Having operated for the last 2 years out of the historical St Paul Methodist Church, Val’s already has a massive following in the city. Tuesday through Sunday from 4PM-10PM you will gladly be able to get your savory or sweet cheesecake fix. The menu includes jars, like Royal Lane, Sea Salt Mocha, and Lovers Lane, aka Red Velvet. For the more savory and not so sweet cravings, you may enjoy the Smoked Salmon, Brisket and even a Taco flavored cheesecake, just to name a few. Whole cheesecakes are also available, but they must be ordered in advance. Other goodies on the menu include their chipotle pepper brownies, oatmeal cranberry bacon cookies, and the best caramel around, The Dallas Caramel Company. No doubt, Val’s new location will leave you in a sweet disposition. TXmb
