Park & Palate Logo_One Color_RGB BLACKIt’s a fact, we love or food and drinking events in this city. So, it’s no wonder that the upcoming fundraising event for Klyde Warren Park,  Park and Palate will showcase some of the most tempting bites, booze and wines the city has seen for a good cause. Vice President of Events at Klyde Warren, Erika White, took time out to discuss the event, and why you may should check out this culinary extravaganza for a good cause.

Located above Woodall Rogers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul in Downtown Dallas, the green space known as Klyde Warren Park hosts numerous free events and activities all year long. From, outdoor yoga, to chess, and Food Truck Mondays, there’s always something fun and free going on at the park. To continue offering these free events, the park is hosting its first inaugural food and wine fundraising event on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26. Guests will have the opportunity to watch cooking demos, interact with celebrity chefs, and of course chow down on some epic entrees while sipping lavish wines, spirits and beers.

Having spent the last 10 years working on food and wine focused events, White believes that events targeted towards the taste buds are a great way to bring individuals together, which is her goal for Park and Palate and Klyde Warren Park. In choosing chefs for the event, it was all about catering to the desires of Dallas food lovers. Guests can partake in culinary delights from chefs such as Jason Dady of the Jason Dady Restaurant Group, Kent Rathbun of Kent Rathbun Concepts and Sarah Snow of local favorite The Grape Restaurant just to name a few. “We wanted to celebrate this amazing talent while also expanding our outreach to chefs we love all over Texas, as well as a few “celebrity” chefs, so that our guests would have a chance to interact with the local chefs and sample bites from restaurants on their travel bucket list,” White explained.

Of course, no food extravaganza would be complete without some tempting tunes to taste to. On Friday night during “Down to the Roots,” the Paul Thorn band will be performing. Saturday is all about partying, dancing and eating with talented DJ, Lucy Wrubel during the Grand Tasting. “We wanted the first year of Park & Palate to make a huge splash in Dallas. From the concert and competition during Down to the Roots on Friday night, to the Texas-sized Grand Tasting on Saturday, we hope Park & Palate will have something for everyone,” White said. A great cause, masterfully crafted bites, and plenty of vino, Park and Palate is sure to be a taste to remember. TXmb
